Posted September 16, 2018 09:27:38Microsoft has confirmed that the Xbox Developer Program has been disabled due to a cyber attack.
A spokesperson told Eurogamer:”The Xbox Developer Team is currently assessing the situation and is working with Microsoft to get it back up and running as soon as possible.
We are also making improvements to the process to make sure it is as easy to join as possible and are working to provide additional tools for developers and employers to access as soon it is possible.”
Microsoft has been forced to temporarily suspend the Xbox Dev Program for developers due to an incident in which a hacker took over a number of Xbox Live accounts, and then used those accounts to breach the network.
This is Microsoft’s first major cyber attack since the launch of Windows 10.
Xbox Live has been hit with a massive denial of service (DDoS) attack in April.
