Rand Ryan (R) (R), chairman of the Senate Republican Health Care Plan Committee, is expected to unveil the draft of his next health care bill this week, a senior aide to the Kentucky Republican told Politico.
The aide did not specify when the health care proposal would be released, but it is expected this week.
The Republican plan would allow insurance companies to charge higher premiums to people with pre-existing conditions, but also would increase the federal government’s contribution to help lower costs and help states set up insurance markets.
While Ryan is expected in the coming weeks to unveil a new health care blueprint, his staff is expected continue to work on drafting the Senate bill, according to the aide.
